Program Curriculum
The Houston Methodist Hospital (HMH) is announcing an exciting opportunity for a year-long Diabetology. Fellowship within the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
This fellowship provides comprehensive and immersive experience in clinical practice and research, located in the world’s largest medical center.
Dedicated leadership: opportunity to rotate with award winning faculty in the fields of clinical care, education, and quality improvement.
Focused Clinical Exposure: Outpatient Training: Collaborate with faculty specializing in diabetology, lipidology, obesity Medicine & transplant endocrinology. Weekly continuity clinic for diabetes, focusing on complex cases, insulin pump management, CGM interpretation, and holistic care, including diet and exercise.
Inpatient Training: With over 900 beds and dedicated ICU’s, trainees will get extensive inpatient experience with cutting-edge infrastructure. Dedicated diabetes service with specialized rotations.
Scholarly Activities: Opportunity to work on clinical trials, QI projects, retrospective data analysis, case series, case reports, clinical trials, and numerous opportunities to publish at prestigious journals.
Teaching & mentorship: Pathway to work with Texas A&M University, School of Engineering Medicine in. Houston for interested fellows to serve as preceptors.
Conference Attendance: Opportunities to present at national conferences like American College of Diabetology and American Diabetes Association.
Diabetes Camp Participation: Opportunities to participate in several diabetes camps around Houston, such as ADA Camp Rainbow, ADA Imagine Camp, Camp Bluebonnet, and Camp Freedom.
Application process/dates:
Graduates (or those completing graduation by June 2025) of an accredited family or internal medicine residency program in the US.
